Being vegetarian since I was born, it’s easy for me to think out of the box and use what is there instead of concentration on what’s not! Improvising, adapting, tasting, sharing and enjoying the food are the most enjoyable parts of my day. Blogging is the simplest and most effecting way for me to share this passion, which is evident from the name of my blog: Joie De Vivre. It means the exuberant enjoyment of life. For me the exuberance and versatility of a simple ingredient (e.g. mushrooms) is mind numbing! I love to learn and follow a great number of blogs, books and people. My food is an amalgamation of quick easy preparations for the time thirsty chef, as well as a wonderful fusion of Asian and contemporary, with influences from travels far and wide from New Zealand to New York. Leave me in a grocery store- you won’t hear me say a word for hours on end. Hopefully I too am able to inspire a chef or maybe making a simple salad- in someone out there! Here’s to Joie De Vivre!
